ICD-10-PCS Medical Coding
Online Course from JEVS Edu Connect
Program Description
Healthcare in the United States is a rapidly evolving industry, influenced by the dynamics of our population, the role of our government, the vast array of medical treatments and procedures available, and the increased use of technology. As healthcare continues to expand, all medical coders' skills and expertise will be in high demand for many years to come.
This program offers learners skills needed to operate successfully in a variety of medical environments. ICD-10-PCS coding allows reporting of medical procedures in the inpatient setting, such as a hospital. After obtaining the necessary training in coding procedures using ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, and obtaining the practical work experience (6 months to 2 years), students who complete this program could be qualified to sit for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) - Certified Professional Coder Exam (CPC or CPC-H Apprentice); the American Health Information Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam; and/or other National Certification Exams.
